Web20 Jul 2015 · You can only scoop from stars of the classes A, B, F, G, K, M, O ('KGB-FOAM' to remember it). Didnt know that, interesting! It makes sense actually. You can only scoop from stars that have hydrogen in them (or in their corona). You ship uses hydrogen as fuel. Red/brown dwarfes have burned all their hydrogen. Web20 Feb 2024 · I mean, there should be fuel stars along any long route and your ship will warn you when you've reached your last chance to scoop fuel on your current route. However, if your ship has a pretty decent jump range, there should always be a scoopable star within a jump or two of your current location. So ShelLuser's point is something to consider.
