It's that simple. You can build a flight plan using Little Navmap, save it and export it to X-Plane 11 or FSX. In X-Plane 11 I go into my GNS 530, FPL and import the flight plan and then use the waypoints from my GNS unit to file my flight plan in X-Plane 11.
